The Google Animal Farm – It’s A Regular Zoo

You may have read the book, Animal Farm in high school. Animals take over the farm and bring freedom to all. For a while. Then the pigs and dogs ascend to supremacy and make things worse for the rest of the livestock than before- and they collude with men who were formerly bad but now are even “better.”

Google has its own farm system as evidenced by the recent Farmer, Panda and now Penguin updates. They won’t be outdone. Panther is supposed to be next.

SEO – The Waiting Is The Hardest Part

You know it. The waiting for SEO efforts to take effect is the hardest part for you and your business. That’s where the temptation sets in. Take a shortcut. It works. Take another one. It works. Take another one and some crazed animal-named algorithm from Google comes along and takes it all down in an instant. All that work, and it didn’t work. Now you’re back to square one, or sometimes, even behind where you started.

Stay clear of wild animals. Google keeps letting them out of their cages so just stay clear as much as you can.

Word.

Now the target is exact match anchor text. Too much and you get a painful slap. You have to game the system a bit better than that.

Real legacy = scores of successful short sales over the last seven years. About three that didn’t close. The rest- done deals.

SEO Test For Partial Match Anchor Text

Partial match anchor text is a frequently recommended strategy to avoid Google’s increasingly aggressive filters and algorithm related penalties or “discounting” of links.

In this case, I’ll use one word of a two word target query, slimjaxmiami which currently has no results in Google. The other word is lolbfk12 but it will not be pointed from here, but another blog post.

The test will be whether the queries with both words will render the target page- or not.

Real Estate Websites And Indexing Specific Target Pages

Sometimes, the best way to get a specific real estate page to index is to simply deep link directly to it from a post. Posts seem to get better treatment from the freshness algorithm than pages do.

I created a page on Houston real estate but it still had not indexed even when another post on the same site pointed to it. Linking within sites may not be the most effective method, especially when speed is needed, to index specific pages.

We’ll find out soon enough how well the external method compares for speed and effectiveness.
